CONVERSATIONS ON THE PORCH”

Summer Adult Learning Opportunity

Wednesday evenings, June 16 to July 21

6:00 to 7:00

     Last summer, Immanuel friends gathered on the Parish House porch for lively, thoughtful discussion based on “Speaking of Faith,” public radio’s weekly program about “religion, meaning, ethics, and ideas.”  Krista Tippett, host of this program, conducts interviews with a wide variety of people – theologians, poets, scientists – probing and inviting their reflection on where large ideas intersect with daily human experience.  The “conversations on the porch” were so popular last summer that many people have asked to do it again this summer. 

     This summer’s conversations will focus on Ms. Tippett’s recent book: Einstein’s God: Conversations About Science and the Human Spirit.  Participants may wish to read the book, listen to the corresponding podcasts, or both.  Contact Ms. Richter in the church office (414-276-4757) by June 4 to order a copy of the book for $16.  Podcasts can be found at www.speakingoffaith.org.
